Wetlands Nature Park

This past Saturday Preston, Lulu and I went to the Wetlands Nature Park. The company that I work for did all of the engineering on this. It's like a Spring Preserve that is supposed to have a bunch of wildlife roaming around and swimming around. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much of the wildlife that is supposed to be there. I don't know if it was because the time of year or what, but we barely saw anything. Not even any birds. But we did get to see a good size turtle under one of the streams for a split second, some dragon flies and a rabbit. I was kind of bummed we didn't get to see more, but we still had a good time. Here are some of the pictures I took while we were there. 

Spring Foliage

Spring is here and if you know anything about Las Vegas, NV, Spring does not last very long. I wanted to take advantage and get some foliage shots before the weather gets miserably scorching hot and all of the pretty flowers die a horrible death. Enjoy the prettiness!! 

I was trying so hard to get a bee in good focus but it's nearly impossible. They just don't stop buzzin around them buggers.

This has completely made my day. One of my photos that I had submitted into two separate contests won an award. When I joined ViewBug, I never thought I would win anything. For me it was just a way to get my photos out there for people to see. I have had a few peer recognitions and some of my photos have been favored by some other ViewBug users. Just the views and the likes are enough to make me happy and now I won  a fucking award. How exciting is that!!!! Below is the photo that won the award as the judges favorite.

Documenting Downtown Las Vegas - Part 2

Hope you guys enjoyed Part 1. Here lies Part 2. 

Vegas has so many places I want to explore. I want to find the hidden gems of my city that you don't here much about. How do you go about finding these places? I'll keep thinking on that one.. Until then, have some more awesome documentation!
